Rinat F. Dasaev is considered the best goalkeeper Russia ever had since the legendary Lev Yashin. Nicknamed the "Iron Curtain" he participated in the 1982, 1986 and 1990 FIFA World Cups and was runner-up at the EURO 1988 in Germany.

"I played at three World Cups. Each of them was very special and holds a separate place in my heart. Each of them was different too but they all were great celebrations of football. I dream to see the World Cup to come to Russia.

Playing  at World Cups was pinnacle of my career. To help to bring the one to Russia would be an even greater personal achievement. We, Ambassadors of Russia-2108/2022, will spare no effort to promote and support Russia's bid".
